After growing up in Manhattan, here are 50 things you need to do in NYC. I have a Substack of the more touristy version. This list is always evolving, but here’s what I got as of the end of 2024 after visiting over 100 neighborhoods.
Explore the Floral District — located in Chelsea, you can get wholesale flowers and even plants. They also have a floral design course at the New York School of Flower Design!
Cultural Festivals — I specifically went to the Lunar New Year Festival, but there are SO many. We live in the most diverse city in the world — take advantage of it!
Mahayana Buddhist Temple — Chinatown’s largest Buddhist temple, the iconic golden Buddha statue is stunning.
Explore Roosevelt Island — a lot of people take the tram and don’t explore.
Stop at the former smallpox hospital, Four Freedoms Park, lunch at Mediterranean Eatery, and coffee at Cafe Aviva!
